Southern girl loves San Fran... and the quest of getting San Fran to love her

Good Morning everybody from San Francisco!

San Francisco you wonder... well did I ever tell you that I have a new obsession? The obsession is beating the door down to get a job out here... and live here. We shall see what happens.

I was talking to Marianne and she asked me to journal my journey here. Well I had a wonderful e-mail typed out and then it went into a weird black hole. So I am trying a new one.

How do i like the city? I love it. I kind of have a crush on San Fran. don't tell anyone. :)
Yesterday again reminded me how much I want to be out here. And it was not anything in particular other than how natural everything felt, how i could see what my own rhythm of life could look like here, other than the fact that i could see myself discovering the city for years and loving every second of it, other than the fact that the people are so friendly. Oh here is the best part... this trip I have found other black people!!!!!!! (last time I came I say a grand total of 4 of us. It was sad)

But I am enjoying myself. My trip here was to look around the city, make sure this is where I want to live, seriously pray through some stuff, and do some leg work on getting a job. So far two of the three things is getting accomplished since I have been here (I've been in town a whole 36 hrs). I have gotten a chance to look around a small corner of the city. I love the farmers market that takes place at the Faire. Did i mention that the Faire is on on the bay. Yup, instant ocean. :) Also I have a flurry of meet-ups with various friend's friend's who are lawyers, included one i just meet on the street at the farmers market. It's been good.

I'll be honest, there are times when I freeze up and get a little overwhelmed. Mainly those times happen when I think about how many people I have to meet and once I am around them what do I say. A lot of my time this evening will be spent researching the people I am talking with. I hope and pray and feel like that will give me a good feel for them.

Anyways I probably should give you a feel of what yesterday was like. I landed at 2am in the morning. there were flight delays coming out of the airport... sigh... for hours. Michelle and I crashed as soon as picked me up. I got up in the morning and went to the store across the street to get some fruit and stuff. At the check out I was invited to a jacuzzi party. i laughed internally at that (incidentally men from new york are pretty bold people). I finished getting my stuff went to starbucks talked with the lady there for a while about places to do natural hair and headed back to grace's place. Michelle, her cousin, and her boy friend and i then hit the market. Um wonderful. On our way in i say people walking out with flowers wrapped in paper. Did i ever tell you that i am a sucker for flowers? Well I am. Well we start to walk around. there is fresh food every and of all types. And it smells great! We wander around get some food and head back for lunch. Well after lunch Michelle and her cousin headed out and stayed behind to e-mail contacts and finish up school type work(flyers, missions trip stuff, etc). After that was done I started wandering through some of Grace's neighborhood. I love discovering stuff on my own. I like discovering little nooks and crannies of new out of the way places.

anyways let me stop boring y'all. I think this southern girl has a thing for San Fran. Hopefully San Fran has a thing for her.
